Arielle Montague Gorman
Hello, my name is Arielle, I am an RN by day and an artist by nights and weekends!
I have always drawn but my personal style did not start to emerge until about a decade ago when I realized that making art to express the way I was feeling made me feel less frustrated/crazy/alone....since then I have used illustration, printmaking, and painting to create characters that I see as dear but bewildered. They long to be disobedient but they are incapable of shedding their sweetness. The frustration that comes from this tension is exhausting. Some tire in desperation while others finally break out into anger. Their physical disproportion mirrors their emotional befuddlement.
Like writing and music, art helps us to share emotional experiences that are difficult to express. I hope that when people see my art, they can feel less frustrated/crazy/alone, too. Enjoy and thank you for visiting!
